Hallmark University President Brent Fessler Addresses Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas

On May 31st, 2017, at the Marriott Northwest Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas celebrated the workforce mentoring and development taking place between professional sponsors and BBBS enrolled children throughout San Antonio. The event titled “Workplace Mentoring Luncheon” featured a cast of industry leaders throughout the San Antonio community including emcee Randy Beamer, keynote speaker, and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolfe, and Hallmark University President Brent Fessler.

Ian Speaking at luncheonFessler, who is himself “Big Brother” to a BBBS “little” by the name of Ian (photographed left), stated, “When we look at why we’re here on this planet, not just as individuals but also as institutions, we’re investing in people. And there are few better ways to invest in a person than through mentoring. As business leaders, we need to lead and inspire our people to mentor our youth.”

According to their website, “The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.” BBBS has been in operation for over 100 years, exists in communities throughout the United States, and provides mentors for enrolled children between the ages of six and eighteen.
