Hallmark University Honors Methodist Healthcare for Excellence and Partnership

At their “It’s Time for Change” luncheon, Hallmark University paid honor and awarded Methodist Healthcare before an audience of city officials, business representatives, media outlets, and educators. The accolades were attributed to Methodist’s long-term partnership, excellence, and their contributions in improving healthcare related curriculum for nursing students at Hallmark University.

“For more than 50 years, Methodist Healthcare has provided high-quality care to patients from San Antonio, it’s 26 surrounding counties, and around the world,” said Hallmark’s President Brent Fessler. “Methodist Healthcare has been an integral partner in curriculum designing and improvement to produce the servant leader nurses this community needs.” In his remarks regarding curriculum designing and improvement, Fessler was referring to Methodist’s scholastic contributions to the Martha Fessler School of Nursing from which they have hired over 50 RN Hallmark graduates.

Opening their first hospital in 1963, Methodist has become a leading provider of healthcare services and expertise in San Antonio. With a network of greater San Antonio hospitals including nine acute care facilities, Methodist is San Antonio’s second largest private employer employing more than 10,000 individuals, including 2,700 physicians and specialists. It was mentioned that more people turn to Methodist’s San Antonio doctors than any other hospital or system when in need of healthcare. Their mission “to continuously improve the health and wellness of our community by serving humanity to honor God” is something Fessler said, “remains true.”
